Employment Counselling – Meet our Employment Counsellors and Job Developers


Gail Wood-Clark

Gail Wood-Clark has 20 years of experience in employment services in Huron County as an Employment Counsellor and Job Developer. Gail has an excellent knowledge of community resources and government services and is able to maximize potential of individuals with multiple barriers to employment. Working directly with employers gives her excellent background in the local labour market and the ability to match clients to employer openings.  Gail is committed to providing the highest calibre of services and assisting people in designing and implementing work/life plans that are effective, thoughtful and aligned with the individual's needs and goals. She is Certified in Life Skills Coach and MBTI assessments,Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, Solution Focused Counselling-Basic Skills, and Smart Talk, a course in communication. Gail has a B.A. in Social Development from the University of Waterloo as well as two certificates in Social Work, specializing in Child Abuse from Renison College and a certificate for a Developmental Service Worker from Fanshawe College.  Gail also is a Registered Rehabilitational Professional (RRP)

Jenni Helm

Jenni Helm has over 16 years experience providing career counselling to individuals with multiple barriers to employment with 7  of these years working both as a Career Coach and Job Developer, initiating employer contacts, and placing individuals into work placements. She has a B.A. in Psychology from Wilfrid Laurier University and a three year Employment Counselling Diploma from Sir Sandford Fleming College.  Jenni has strong skills facilitating workshops, teaching adults and youth with a range of learning styles, the skills to find work and connect with re-training opportunities to promote success.  She provides appropriate resources and tools to clients based on her knowledge of the local labour market and community. She is able to assist employers with appropriate information and come up with creative solutions to hiring, training and retaining employees. Jenni uses the Solution Focused Counselling approach.

Peggy Hulley

Peggy Hulley has been committed to helping job seekers in Huron County and the surrounding area since 2011, in everything from computer tutoring, programming for younger and older workers, as well as facilitating workshops in career planning, resume and cover letter creation, interview preparation and developing training goals. As an Employment Counsellor since 2015, she has enjoyed meeting with people one on one to help them develop and implement a goal plan that takes into account their abilities, current barriers, and future ambitions. Peggy graduated from the University of Guelph with a Bachelor of Arts (Sociology and Anthropology Double Major). She is certified in Solution Focused Brief Coaching and Counselling, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, Career Development Theory, Bridges Out of Poverty and Myers Briggs Type Indicator Step I & II. She is also a Registered Rehabilitation Professional (RRP).

Elizabeth Simpson

Elizabeth Simpson has been assisting job seekers and local employers through job development since 2015. By completing needs assessments to match job seeker’s skills and abilities to fulfilling employment opportunities; she is a resourceful and familiar face in the Exeter and Seaforth offices. She also helps employers access hiring and training incentives to help offset their training costs and is involved with many community initiatives to strengthen workforce development in Huron County. Elizabeth is a graduate of the University of Guelph and is certified in Career Development Theory, Bridges out of Poverty, Job Development 101 and Job Development 202.

Kim Postma

Kim has over 20 years of experience in employment, small business, and economic development. She has worked with companies such as Valeo Canada, Volvo Canada, and Westinghouse Canada. Kim is trained in and co-facilitated a County Wide Strategic Planning project. She participated in mass hiring initiatives with Orca Bay for Blackcomb and GM Place in Vancouver and on a smaller scale with local job fairs in Huron County. Kim is an intentional facilitator on a wide variety of topics. Her project management experience includes: Summer Company; Starter Company and Core Service Programs for the Ministry of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade; HR Project Coordinator working with Ice Culture Canada and Brussels Agri-Services; Provincial Youth Employment initiatives; Employment Ontario Hiring and Training Initiatives. Kim’s specialties include: MBTI; Career Counselling; Business Plan Writing; Group Facilitation; Employment; Employer Liaison; HR; Job Matching and Placement Incentives; Youth Employment Fund; Second Career; Resumes; Workshops; Marketing; Social Media; Event Coordination, Database Management. She views people and communities holistically.
